Privacy at KhojOne

Last updated: September 2026

At KhojOne, we believe search should be simple, useful, and privacy-conscious. KhojOne does not require a public user account and does not use tracking-based advertising.

This Privacy page explains what information KhojOne collects, how search results are provided, and how information is used.

Product results come from Khojone’s own index of group store sites. Web queries are sent to DuckDuckGo. Wikipedia is used for an answer card and the Wikipedia tab. Those providers may log requests according to their own policies.

Khojone stores search queries, the tab used, how many results were shown, visitor IP address, and a daily visitor hash so the site owner can see usage in the admin dashboard. Signed-in admin visits are not counted. This data is not sold and is not used for ads.

Khojone.com does not show tracking ads and does not require a public account.

Search Data

To operate and improve the KhojOne search service, we may store limited search and usage information, including:

• Search queries submitted to KhojOne
• The search tab or category used
• The number of results displayed
• Visitor IP address
• A daily visitor hash used to understand unique daily visits

This information helps the site owner understand search usage and maintain the service.

Signed-in administrator visits are excluded from visitor statistics.

How Search Results Are Provided

KhojOne combines results from different sources:

Products
Product results come from KhojOne's own index of participating group store websites, including products from stores within the KhojOne network.

Web Search
Web search queries are sent to DuckDuckGo to provide web results. DuckDuckGo may process or log requests according to its own privacy policies.

AI mode
When you use AI mode, KhojOne may send your question and a few search snippets to an AI provider (Groq first, then OpenAI, then Google Gemini if a key is set and the previous provider fails) to generate a short answer. If no provider answers, KhojOne compiles an answer from Wikipedia and search results instead. AI answers can be incomplete or wrong.

Deals and AI tools
The Deals tab compares priced products from KhojOne’s own shop index (for example IndyaMall, JadeKart, ZeeBoni and IndyaMart). The AI tools directory lists third-party software with links to those vendors. Future sponsored or affiliate listings will be marked. Prices and tool details can change on the destination site.

How We Use Collected Information

The limited information collected by KhojOne may be used to:

• Operate and maintain the search service
• Understand search and visitor activity
• Monitor service performance
• Improve the search experience
• Detect unusual or abusive activity
• Display usage statistics in the administration dashboard

KhojOne does not sell this information to third parties.

The information described above is not used to create tracking-based advertising profiles or to serve tracking advertisements.

No Public Account Required

You can use KhojOne without creating a public account or signing in.

KhojOne is designed to provide a straightforward search experience without requiring users to provide personal profile information simply to perform a search.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

KhojOne may use cookies or similar technologies where necessary for the operation, security, administration, or functionality of the website.

KhojOne does not use tracking cookies for behavioral advertising.

Third-Party Services

KhojOne relies on selected third-party services to provide certain search functionality, including DuckDuckGo for web search and Wikipedia for knowledge information.

When a search request is sent to a third-party provider, that provider may process the request according to its own terms and privacy policy.

We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of those services if you would like to understand how they handle requests.

Data Retention

KhojOne retains search and usage information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for operating, monitoring, and improving the service, or as required for legitimate administrative and security purposes.
